Vision of Destiny Primary School

A wonderful link through James Wald (American missionary friend) lead me to Cari. Cari moved from America over to Uganda some 8 years ago now and worked in a number of different charities on NGO's before she set up her primary school V"ision of Destiny". They school is catering for around 100 children who are in need each child having a sponsor to support them. KSM came in to help provide sports equipment and some coach support for the leaders and children. Cari has a plan to set-up and after schools sports club plus develop and English style physical education lesson for the school kids. Her long term vision is a larger pr school a secondary school and who know maybe a University. All the more I know KSM will be involved in the sports for there in Cari vision and future.

EASTER SUNDAY IN UGANDA

We had a great day church in the morning, party at my flat in the afternoon and ended with church cell also at my place over 20 people turned up. I and James decided to spice up the normal Uganda style party with some fun games and rules like “Only English Speaking Allowed” We were also celebrating one of my good Ugandan friend’s birthdays which was a great time.

 PICTURE FROM THE PARTY

Sadly no Easter eggs were involved as the cost 25,000 shillings each (£8.50) for a tiny egg

(This was the only easter egg i found in all the shops in uganda)

We also had a great time in cell, my first time to hold it at my flat which was fun to do. Hope you all had a really nice Easter to.

PAKWACH - MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

Me and James at the River Nile in Pakwach

Pakwach is a small village just outside of Nebbi district North West Uganda. I travelled up with James Wald a good christian friend from America who used to be my neighbour in Uganda the first time he came over. He has just bought land on the River Nile up in pakwach were over the coming years he will be setting up a missionary training base. I will be helping James out with details that need to be sort in Uganda as he has now gone back to the USA to raise funds and create a team to bring back to Uganda with him early next year.

The area of land is on the bank of Murchison Falls National park a beautiful spot of land. James will partner with local safari companies to help raise fund for the ministry which is a great opportunity. So of course we had to check out the park for our selves and we weren’t let down the pictures James got were stunning

I FELT LIK HUNDREDS OF EYES WHERE STARING AT ME HAHA AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE

MARK AND ANNA'S WEDDING

So we travelled down to Kisoro for the wedding, I was told it was hilly and beautiful but I couldn't quite of imagined how stunning it really was. As we reach Kabale district and travelled on to Kisoro using the roads carved out of the hills my eyes were opened to pure beauty. We went through forest and up over the hills then all of a sudden Mount Mufumbiro a 4, 132 meter High Mountain partially covered by the clouds.

The next day was the give away, which if I have this right is when the family of the bride give there blessing and give the bride over to the Groom. Was a scary event for me as i was sat at the front next to the groom and had to do some small procedures as part of the give away.

Next day the wedding where the 6 of us groomsman made a way to the church in a small car crushed together fun start. Of course with me being the only white guy i stood out a bit and reaching the church all the locals where shocked to see me at first one of the groomsman telling me there asked him if i was the groom oops

The wedding was all in the local language so I couldn’t understand but i got some glimpses and made sure to clap at the right time. It was a lovely ceremony they show so much respect for the occasion.
Sadly on our way to the reception it started to rain seriously and didn’t stop for the rest of the day, we all got a bit wet as we walked with the newly weds into the reception gardens to the sound of ladies shouting out in there African way. It was one of the most surreal feelings hundreds of people were there.

I help give out wedding cake and watch the amazing local dances, rained stop any dancing after the wedding was over but that didn’t stop us 6 groomsman as me danced until lights and music went off good times. Overall a truly amazing couple of days which i will never forget.
