Full Gospel Church Football Team

A call from a old friend who is a youth Pr at full Gospel Church Makerere about a bunch of youth who need a coach and my ears started to tingle. I have never been into coaching youth football teams but was excited about the challenge over the Christmas period with a match in early January 2011. over the last two weeks and 4 training session later and they are looking more like a team young in age 16-18 but with some real skill. Should be an interesting year to see if I can really improve this team enough to compete against some of the bigger teams around.

Final Entebbe Visit 2010

Lunyo Children's Centre has been such an exciting project which came about during the final months of 2010 and I felt it was so important to give them a boost going into 2011. Also a great opportunity to bring Ezra from KSM Kawaala along with me. For some more experience and a well deserved treat after a hard working year. We Got down there and had a fun 2 hour sports coaching session with 10 of their leaders. Great to see some of the girls come out and as always their leader Christine full involved.

We left them with a bunch of sports equipment using our loan scheme which I feel was a huge encouragement for them and know ministry will be carrying on even over the Christmas time. 2011 will be a huge year for them not just in establishing their ministry but helping to establish Entebbe as a huge area for sports ministry.

Christmas Partys Begin

Crane / Making a Difference

During the world cup KSM worked under viva Crance a children rights organisation who where funded by Making a Difference from the UK. Well some of the m.a.d. team came back out to celberate get invovled in the Crane christmas parties and i was invited along to give a helping hand in the area of sports. Was great fun of course around 200 kids playing sports in a indoor hall and a 30 degree grass sloping hill true Uganda style.

Pantomime and Christmas Cantata

You may well think that a Pantomime called Shrekerella is not for a grown man like myself but you will be wrong. Having some fun outside of my busy working schedule to see my first Panto and i have to say the three hours i sat there where full of pure entertainment.

Watoto Church is now getting into the Christmas season the past weekend with the Children's Cantata based on The Tale of Three Kings, fantastic show and much looking forwards to the Adults version next week.

THE SURGERY

Illness in Uganda

For the past week and half i have been down ill.

This wasn’t the best of timing as it was leading up to the final Scripture Union Camp of the year which i ended up missing. I became ill enough that i made myself seek medical help first at a local surgery and was wrongly diagnosed with everyone’s favourite Malaria. Then after another 4 -5 days without improvement went to a place they call "The Surgery". Lead by Dr. RJ Stockley (British) at midnight with the help of Kate went down to "The Surgery" and found a fantastic Ugandan doctor who diagnosed me in about 5 minutes with severe Dehydration (which probably sounds a lot worse than it really is). So for the next 3 hours having three drips put through my system and Kate by my side final left and headed back home to wake up the next day feeling much better.

BIG THANK YOU TO

"THE SURGERY"
