On the 13th and 14th March we held are first training of 2010. Weeks of preparation had gone into this two day training with a lot of excitment gathering from the KSMU National Office. The training was for 15 volunteers of projects signed as partners of ksm. The volunteers came from around the country upto Kampala. The training was called "Training of Trainers" as these leaders who have been training will sparedhead training in there district and other surrounding them as KSM moves out to hold 2 day training in 5-7 other districts later in ther year.

The training focused on a practical side was to give the leaders a solid understanding and practical experience of who to run a sports mnistry outreach. We had the morning in the class room then the afternoon in the field, it was an excited event as we were launch a brand new project at the same time

Very important part of the train was teaching the art of preperation. 1 solid hour planning and practising what we were going to do later in the field gave the team a clear understanding of how easy it is to plan and how effective the results can be. Left - two groups planning on focused on the sports the other on the sit-down bible teaching. Right - practising the bible story skit

In the morning we had challenged one group of leaders to create “sports session plans” including: aim, skill, drill and game and the other group to create a sit-down including Fun games, songs, memory verse, bible story skit and life-skill talk. It was now time to put there planning and preparation into practise as we headed to the field.

On day two of the training we had a treat for 150 children as they received an orange kings foundation T-shirt. You can see in the picture above the children in a large circle doing a warm-up. The other picture is my good college Mathias Mulumba leading a Hockey Session alongside myself during the outreach.

After the sports we went for the sit-down program. On the Sunday I had the pleasure of playing Jesus as we acted out Jesus crucifixion on the cross; our topic for the day was “Gods Love for You”

The training was a huge success over the last two year we have held many trainings but I really feel this was our best yet. We had few leader but chose them wisely and I am just excited to see how there projects go throughout the rest of the year. Also looking forwards to joining up with each other them in there respective districts as we use these leaders to train hundreds more.
