Abaana Ministries: New Exciting Project

Buganda Road Pitch: sight of Abaana Ministries
KSM latest project about to start

Calvary Chapala Kampala one of KSM main project here in Kampala have opened the door to starting a second project with a organisation called Abanna Ministries.

Abaana Ministries is a project that is working with street kids in the centre of Kampala.
The leader found out about the sports ministry KSM is doing with Calvary Chapala and ask them to get involved.

Abaana Ministries has 100-200 street children that come to the field every Friday to play football. The children are not like any other children i have met, they are wild and aggressive towards each other yet have a bond together like none i have seen protecting each other against "normal children" as they call it. They come from 3 main slums of Kampala Kisenyi, Kivulu, and Katwe (ClickTo: Picture the Slums in Kampala).
All being devastatingly poor areas with most children having alcohol and drug addictions, most common is sniffing fuel using hankies which helps the hunger go away and passes them out at night.

I have been down to the project 3 times now just to help the main street kids leader of Abaana HM as the Calvary Chapel team and I plan a way forwards for these children. We want to come in with a solid plan as the children are very wild, a lot of organisation is need for this project to really work.

Even though these children have little in there lives & come to the field with bare feet and ripped up clothes they still smile and laugh like the beautiful children they are. I am so excited about working with Abaana and Calvary chapel to progress this project to the level that we are transforming the children’s lives. Please pray for the team as we work hard to see the best way forwards.

Ye hardest thing i have ever done, was there today really starting to grow close to the kids, coaching some of the older youth tomo in new sports which will be great trying to bring them into leadership roles. Hopefully in a couple of months we will have a great project with the kids more behaved, all in good time.
